cockroaches on my face?????

so i have sensitive skin and am usually careful about what face creams/body products i use. i'm allergic to lavender which seems to be in a whole lot of stuff, and lanolin. so i always make a point of glancing at ingredients lists. i'd rather not have an awesome rash all over my face.

my boss gave me a sample package of a russian face cream she got from sephora. so i look at what's in it.

i see the word 'linalool'

what's that? funny word, maybe related to lanolin? so off to google i go....

Linalool (IPA: /lɪˈnæloʊɒl/) is a naturally-occurring terpene alcohol chemical found in many flowers and spice plants with many commercial applications, the majority of which are based on its pleasant scent (floral, with a touch of spiciness). It has other names such as β-linalool, linalyl alcohol, linaloyl oxide, p-linalool, allo-ocimenol and 2,6-dimethyl-2,7-octadien-6-ol.

Linalool is also used by pest professionals as a flea and cockroach insecticide.
