that was one of the best concerts i have ever been to.

except for all the idiots in the audience....but they didn't ruin the show for me.

they played most of my favorite songs and made me ridiculously...perma smiley...happy.

[livejournal.com profile] iolorah wrapped this part up nicely in her post...

I was really afraid that they weren't going to play Sometimes, but right at the end of the show, before the encores, they pulled it out, and oh my god, it was incredible; we're talking on par with "Everything Counts" from 101. See, the chorus is the line, "Sometimes, when I look in your eyes, I can see your soul". At the end of the song, it repeats and fades out. Except that it didn't. The audience kept it going. The music stopped. The audience didn't. The entire band stood there on the stage, staring out at us, looking absolutely floored, as we kept it going for almost five minutes, hoping that they'd pick up the song again. The lead singer had this look like he might cry, his hand on his heart as he watched us.

when the song started and they hit the line 'on a flat roof, there's a boy leaning against a wall of rain. aerial held up high, calling come on thunder' i had shivers...it was so good.

and they said they'd be back next year.
sweet sweet joy
